General Manager

Civil and Scape is rapidly becoming one of Sydney’s most respected and
professional Commercial Landscape and Civil contractors. Our primary focus
is client satisfaction and we pride ourselves in maintaining this healthy
relationship through the quality of our work as well as delivering iconic
projects. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to immediately
join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be required to
manage and review the day to day operations of the organisation ensuring
continued growth and success into the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of
the organisation such as:

  • Management of the administration, estimating and delivery divisions to
    ensure each operating efficiently and seamlessly independently and
  • Review of the business operating platform and actioning changes
    required for improvement
  • Management of all HR matters e.g. hiring staff, managing performance,
    training and embedding group culture
  • Managing risk and compliance
  • Motivating and driving the team to achieve goals and overall business
  • Directing sales, marketing and customer service initiatives
  • Assisting Managing Director with the creation and implementation of
    growth strategies
  • Reporting to and assisting the Managing Director as required
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the business and accountable
    for outcomes

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications preferred
  • Over 5 years’ experience in a General Manager or Senior Leadership role is
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and mentor team
    members at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to drive change and innovation in the organisation
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Strategic thinker
  • Driven and motivated to succeed
  • Excellent organisational skills

Key Deliverables for Initial 6 Months:

  • Month 1 –

– Full assessment and understanding of current team and
operational functions
– Complete overall business gap analysis

  • Month 2 –

– Full review of Operating Platform and actions to streamline and
improve processes and procedures
– Complete assessment of current Vs future requirements for
staffing and resources

  • Month 3 –

– Review and finalisation of 2021 business plan with Managing
– Begin implementation phase of business plan and key actions for
growth and improvement

  • Month 6 –

– Focus on overall business operations and performance including
ongoing identification of areas for improvement and growth for the
team and the organisation
